The 4th, 5th and 6th paragraphs show that the
Treasury do not favour making any statement
regarding the future of the rate of exchange for
the Hong Kong dollar. I think we shall have to
agree to this.
The further letter promised will deal with the
remaining points.
Mr. J. B. Williams and Mr. Mayle may like to
see, then wait, say, ? one week for further letter.
